Cost falls for large flat-panel monitor

年代eattle, Wa..—Christensen Display Products has announced four new flat-panel monitors. The new 18-in. products offer high performance viewing characteristics: up to 1,280 x 1,024 pixel resolution; 24 bit or “true color” depth;

The products are available either in panel mount or 19-in. rack mount configuration with or without a resistive touchscreen. All units carry standard industrial ratings including NEMA 4/12, and are UL and CUL listed.

“The 18-inch family offers the same high performance features as our 20 in. flat-panel products, but with a slightly smaller size and a more economical price point” comm-ents Rick Tomfohrde, vice president. “We’re proud to be the first to market with this leading technology.” The new products offer a true 18 in. diagonal active viewing area, as large as a traditional 20 in. CRT, at a fraction of the depth and weight.

年代pace and weight savings of flat-panel monitors offer advantages to users and OEMs with limited mounting options. Immunity to magnetic fields, longer screen life, no image burn through, low power consumption, and limited heat generation are additional benefits.

Christensen’s technology permits interface to virtually any PC without special software drivers, adapter modules, cables, BIOS settings, etc. All products automatically adapt to any standard resolution and refresh rate and display the image at full screen.

The new LSX18 family is priced starting at $7,500 and are available from many full line industrial automation distributors or the manufacturer.
