OPC appoints two to board of directors

Scottsdale, AZ—OPC Foundationhas named two new members to its board of directors. They are Kevin Roach, vice president, Rockwell Software, and Grant Wilson, vice president of technology, Emerson Process Management.

Announcing the appointments, Thomas J. Burke, president and executive director of the organization, noted the expertise of the two gives the foundation “the necessary leadership to carry forward the OPC Unified Architecture as the basis for secure reliable interoperability for automation and beyond.” Roach is responsible for automation and information software globally at Rockwell, and is also chairman of MESA International, a not-for-profit organization that promotes the exchange of best practices, strategies, and innovations in managing manufacturing operations and achieving excellence in plant operations. Wilson heads the DeltaV system development team at Emerson. His responsibilities include leading batch, user interface, engineering tools, and integration product development for the platform.

OPC Foundation is a non-profit international standards organization dedicated to providing standards for interoperability in industrial automation. Its specifications are open and interoperable interface standards that leverage the functionality and technology of the Microsoft operating systems and architecture and the technology of XML and Web services.
