Falcon Electric Inc. expanded its compact and scalable FN Series UPS Plus. Designed for industrial and process control applications, the FN Series now offers users the choice of scaling from 3 kVA to 24 kVA or now scaling from 8 kVA to 40 kVA.

Falcon Electric says its new FN Series UPS Plus is compact and offers scaling from 3 kVA to 24 kVA or 8 kVA to 40 kVA.

新单位提供相同的紧凑的足迹the FN Series 6 kVA unit in the same compact footprint as the FN Series 6 kVA unit, Falcon Electric says. The parallel or N+1 redundant UPSes are designed to meet the demands of IT infrastructures with a scalable platform and N+1 redundancy. The new FN Series models achieve many technical milestones including a faster processor using digital signal processing (DSP) technology, thereby improving performance, capability, and reliability. An FN system can be configured using individual 8 and 10 kVA models, providing up to 40 kVA capacity or to 30 kVA with N+1 redundancy. This approach eliminates the added expense of buying additional cabinets to house control, power and battery modules—providing users with a lower total cost of ownership, Falcon says. In addition, the new FN models can be easily programmed by the user for use as a 50 Hz or 60 Hz frequency converter, for worldwide power applications.”Our first FN Series UPS Plus is receiving great reviews by our customers due to its flexibility and standard features that are options in competing systems. The affordable scalability of these units has filled a void in the market,” says Michael Stout, Falcon’s vice president of engineering. The new FN models also include a wide input-voltage window (good for fluctuating power environments); a Remote Emergency Power Off (REPO) interface; an LCD display with advanced monitoring; hot-swappable, user-replaceable batteries; optional battery packs and chargers for the highest level of power availability. The system’s true regenerative (double-conversion) on-line technology provides the highest level of protection against a wide spectrum of power problems, Falcon says, including blackouts, brownouts, surges and transients. Power factor correction (PFC) circuitry greatly reduces harmonics that can adversely affect sensitive computers and electronic equipment. The features can save organizations thousands—if not millions—of dollars in lost processes, transactions, and productivity, Falcon says. Advanced communications with unlimited client software licensing. Supporting shutdown and management software supports all Microsoft Windows platforms including Vista, as well as Novell NetWare 5 & 6, Linux and FreeBSD.Available now, the new FN Series UPS Plus models are designed to UL and cUL standards and meet FCC Class A requirements. List pricing starts at $5,998 for the 8 kVA model and all models include a two-year warranty.—Edited by Mark T.
