TI introduces peer-to-peer design discussion groups

Houston, Tex. – Texas Instruments (TI) introduced five discussion groups that allow designers to tap directly into a knowledge base of over 50,000 TI DSP developers, more than 500 third party developers, and universities.

Initially the groups will cover five discussions on TMS320 DSP-based silicon, software, tools, and systems:

Control optimized design with TMS320C2000 DSPs;

Power efficient design with TMS320C5000 DSPs;

High performance design with TMS320C6000 DSPs;

‘Which DSP? What DSP’ for engineers just starting system designs; and

Digital media application design with TMS320DMx DSP and TMS320DSCx products.

The supporting technology features a search engine that gives users flexible means to find specific threads of conversation. Designers can ‘opt in’ to certain threads and receive e-mails notifying postings of interest. Later they can ‘opt out’ and add other topics of importance. The host also allows access to discussions in off-line news groups. Discussions can also be reviewed remotely via PDAs.
