Instrument Pak for Measure Foundry from Data Translation provides what is described as the first drag-and-drop graphical software for LXI test and measurement applications. It allows users to configure applications easily and quickly with newer LXI instrument capabilities using IVI-COM drivers and existing VISA and SCPI programs.

Measure Foundry, an open, powerful, application builder, now supports standard instruments: function generator, oscilloscope, digital multimeter (DMM), and programmable power supplies for automated test equipment (ATE). Users can create test and measurement applications combining a variety of instruments without writing any code.

“Instrument Pak for Measure Foundry offers the ability to make structured process sequences using various instruments,” said Fred Molinari, president, founder, and CEO of Data Translation. “For example, the process component allows sequencing of one instrument to another with conditional results and time frames. Combining existing SCPI support with newer LXI instruments offers unprecedented power for creating test and measurement applications. Process sequences can now run in perfect synchronized modes.”

Building on the patented technology of Measure Foundry, Instrument Pak connects to all standard instruments via the IVI-COM drivers which are the basis for all LXI systems. Instrument applications, says Data Translation, can be easily used in process sequences with connections via Ethernet to any PC.

Instrument Pak is available as an add-on to Measure Foundry 5.0 Professional version. Current available Measure Foundry options include:

Measure Foundry Base: Full-featured, powerful application builder is the standard Measure Foundry. Existing industry interfaces such as LXI, GPIB, USB, PCI, PXI/VXI, and RS-232 are supported through SCPI commands via the VISA transport layer. Academic versions are available.

Measure Foundry Professional: All the power and flexibility of the Base version with a built-in installer for easy, royalty-free, one-click distribution of executables.

Instrument Pak for Measure Foundry: Add-on provides access to IVI-COM drivers that support standard instruments: function generator, oscilloscope, digital multimeter (DMM), and programmable power supplies.

Prices range from $700–$2,595.
