Space-saving board/harness connector system

Harness-to-PCB connector system is said to cut installed costs and save board space compared to conventional pin and socket designs. Modular, landed contact system features only a plug assembly. Power and signal contacts are encased in a custom housing. A latching system in the housing ensures secure, reliable PCB mating. ECU connector system is particularly suited for automotive applications, designed to mate directly to an engine management system. It meets all environmental requirements of USCAR and SAE J 2030. By effectively eliminating the female half of the system, the design reportedly achieves installed cost savings of more than 30%.
