Schneider Electric acquires Steeplechase Software

Schneider Electric bought Steeplechase Software Inc. (Ann Arbor, Mich.) on Nov. 22 in an effort to strengthen its PC-based control presence, expand its automation offerings, and give its customers more solutions that integrate applications at the PC level. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Schneider Electric bought Steeplechase Software Inc. (Ann Arbor, Mich.) on Nov. 22 in an effort to strengthen its PC-based control presence, expand its automation offerings, and give its customers more solutions that integrate applications at the PC level. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Schneider adds that buying Steeplechase will allow it to continue developing its PC-based automation strategy with help from an organization that can build flexible products and services required by PC-based customers now, while also providing a cornerstone for information requirements in the future. Future plans include continuing Steeplechase’s creation of a service offering aligned with PC-based control, as well as developing a strategy for next generation products—all leveraging Schneider Electric global offerings.
