宾夕法尼亚州匹兹堡。— Benshaw Inc.’s RediStart Micro II solid-state, reduced-voltage starters rely on multiprocessors to offer users 27 integrated motor control and protection features. Low-voltage units (240, 480, and 600 V class) cover 1-2,500 hp motor sizes, while medium-voltage units (2.3, 4.16, 6.6, and 13.8 kV class) handle 200-20,000 hp. Micro II accommodates various motor types such as induction, synchronous, wound-rotor, two-speed, or reversing.

A “soft-start” method called Tru-Torque provides programmable linear torque acceleration on startup to prevent electrical system disturbances and mechanical shock. It offers precise jogging and stopping control as well. “Micro II starters redefine the global standard for reliable motor control, protection, and flexibility,” says F. X. Livingston, Benshaw’s president and ceo.

Interactive motor control software is key to Micro II. Called RediView, the Microsoft Windows-based software makes these modular starters fully programmable. It allows embedding of extensive diagnostics, monitoring, and real-time maintenance management features. Standard keypad input mode is also available.

RediView提供嵌入式DeviceNet communication and optional Internet connectivity. Critical motor and system faults can be displayed locally, or users can check for faults remotely. They can even start/stop a motor remotely, for example, in a SCADA system application.

The same basic CPU card serves the entire product line, which claims to be unique for solid-state starters. For units up to 5,000 hp, SCRs are fired via pulse transformers. A fiber-optic system controls SCR firing in larger starters; it’s also an option for any unit in noisy, redundant, and higher voltage applications. The starters are UL-listed, CE-certified, and come in NEMA or IEC rated enclosures. Micro II carries a three-year warranty.www.benshaw.com
