Following the success of its European automation show, SPS/IPC/Drives in Nuremberg, Germany, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH—and its U.S. affiliate, Messe Frankfurt Inc.—just announced the inaugural staging of a ”daughter” event in the U.S. for next year.

Around 110 exhibiting companies are expected to display all elements of automation technology from complete systems to integrated solutions, including motion control and electric drives. Focus will be on specific industry applications, such as automotive and chemicals manufacturing. A user-oriented symposium will complement the exhibition, with international experts and industry consultants covering what’s new in technology and the marketplace, employing a variety of presentation formats. The conference is envisioned as a ”meeting point for development and design engineers from science and industry,” says the event organizer.

Some 2,500 North American and worldwide visitors from the ranks of technology professionals and executive management are expected to visit this first SPS Electric Automation America show [Note: SPS refers to the German equivalent of PLC, programmable logic controller.].

By tailoring its successful European show model to local market requirements, Mesago Messe Frankfurt’s new event may change the landscape of technology shows in the U.S. Midwest.
