NEMA 4x enclosures can expand, maintain UL 3R

Modular Rittal TS8 Type 3R enclosure is said to offer outstanding design flexibility and environmental protection.

Rittal Corp . offers TS8 Type 3R enclosures as standard off-the-shelf, economical means for indoor and outdoor protective needs. Meeting UL, cUL, Type 3R, and NEMA 4x requirements, these modular enclosures can be used in outdoor industrial applications, including switchgear, power generation, and wastewater, protecting against rain, dirt, sleet, and snow.
With a symmetrical 16-fold dual tubular frame for industrial-grade strength and stability, the TS8 Type 3R has multiple installation levels to maximize internal space; baying capability on all sides; and many door and sidewall mounting options. TS8 Type 3R also offers an accessory-option vented door.. An optional rain-canopy solar shield can be added to the top. The units can be joined in the field with standard Rittal baying kits and maintain the UL Type 3R rating. Mike Herzog, Rittal product manager, says, “The ability to offer a modular Type 3R enclosure that can be assembled at the jobsite enhances our ability to fit enclosure systems to our clients’ needs.” Eighteen sizes are available: heights of 2,000 and 2,200 mm; widths of 600, 800, and 1,000 mm; and depths of 600 and 800 mm.
