Molex acquires firmware-based protocol conversion capabilities

Lisle, McHenry, IL—Molex Inc.reports that it has acquired Strategis Technologies’ firmware-based protocol conversion business. The purchase includes assets, products, technology and intellectual technology property. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

As part of the acquisition, Strategis’ design and marketing group will join Molex. The business will become a part of Molex’s Integrated Products Division, and will operate out of Molex’s headquarters in Lisle. The purchase does not include Strategis’ navigation and routing business.

Molex and Strategis have been jointly developing advanced protocol conversion products during the past 18 months as part of a development agreement between the two companies. Molex says this latest transaction formalizes its commitment to creating intelligent interconnect products and systems as an extension of its Integrated Products Division.
