Mountain View, CA — Based on its recent analysis of the process automation industry, Frost & Sullivan has recognized Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) with its 2008 North American Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence of the Year Award. According to Frost & Sullivan, Honeywell has helped process manufacturers use energy more efficiently, improve environmental compliance, decrease emissions, and enhance overall business performance with its automation solutions.Frost & Sullivan noted Honeywell’s incorporation of UOP expertise in process knowledge into its UniSim family of process modeling and simulation technology, which enables refineries and petrochemical manufacturers to create a realistic simulation environment for designing and testing processes before they are implemented in their plants. It also enables training operators to use those processes and reduce errors that could lead to plant incidents. The results include safer and more efficient operation and less unplanned downtime. The analyst group also noted that, while providing solutions that enable customers to practice sustainability, Honeywell also follows green practices internally. Honeywell has set a five-year target of a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in its facilities by increasing energy efficiency by 24%. It is going about this task by investing heavily in certification and manufacturing best practices. For more information, visit: www.honeywell.com/acs www.frost.com
