Ember Corp . and Mototech have formed a partnership to give developers design and manufacturing capabilities, and help them tap into the ZigBee market for wireless control and monitoring products. Mototech is an ODM/OEM firm located in Taiwan’s Science-Based Industrial Park.

Mototech will offer contract design and manufacturing services to Ember’s customers, as well as expertise in integrating Ember’s IEEE 802.15.4-compliant wireless semiconductor systems into electronics for home and building automation, entertainment, and other low-power network applications. By using Mototech’s quick-capacity ramp-up capabilities, the partnership reportedly will help users achieve development and production cost savings, and accelerate time-to-market. Mototech also will offer low- and high-volume production services to accommodate Ember’s clients.

“With the ZigBee market set to explode, it’s all about fast time-to-market. However, achieving high volume production quickly with high quality is beyond the reach of many companies,” says Venkat Bahl, Ember’s marketing VP. “The speed and ease of Ember’s application development kit, combined with Mototech’s outsourced design and manufacturing muscle, means that ODM/OEMs can gain a competitive edge, and lower production costs.”

Mototech reports that it partnered with Ember because its standards-based comprehensive hardware and software products are already proven in many real-world applications, as are Ember’s ZigBee expertise and leadership. Ember is a promoter of the ZigBee Alliance, and its semiconductor system is the National Technical Systems’ (NTS) “Golden Suite” for evaluating IEEE 802.15.4 products for interoperability.

“我们这一伙伴关系op是非常令人兴奋的portunity with Ember,” states Ky Chou, Mototech’s president. “We’re putting the full support of Mototech’s resources to work with Ember to deliver a cost-effective ZigBee solution. Our product strategy is to develop building-block modules that can be easily integrated by OEM and ODM customers.”
