Turck has introduced its PT4500 and PT4510 submersible pressure transmitters, which it says are optimized for detecting the level of water and other liquids with similar density, including gasoline and Diesel fuel. The PT4510 covers low-level applications of up to 400 in., while the PT4500 handles ranges up to 100 psig.
A transmitter can be inserted from the top of the tank and placed at the bottom. The device converts the pressure reading to a 4-20 mA output signal. The electrical connection to the transmitter is routed through a cable that contains power and signal wires. It also includes a breathing tube that provides an external atmospheric pressure reference.
These IP 68 rated, stainless steel pressure transmitters may be used in industrial applications, as well as hazardous classified areas. The transmitters carry UL/cUL 913 approval for use in Class I, Division 1, groups C and D locations when installed with an approved barrier, such asTurck‘s IM33 series.
