AMD supports Microsoft Windows CE.Net

Sunnyvale, Calif. - AMD announced July 30 its support of the latest update to the Microsoft Windows CE.Net operating system in its Alchemy Au1000, Au1100, and Au1500 System-on-a-Chip (SOC) processors.

‘Windows CE.Net offers a reliable core operating system for enabling demanding real-time embedded designs across a breadth of hardware,’ said Dr. William Edwards, vp and general manager of AMD’s Personal Connectivity Solutions Group.

‘In the highly competitive device market, our OEM customers need a reliable and powerful microprocessor for use in their Windows Powered devices,’ said Keith White, senior director of marketing for the Embedded and Appliance Platforms Group at Microsoft Corp. ‘AMD’s Alchemy family of processors will enable OEMs to create powerful and feature-rich devices based on Windows CE.Net and bring devices to market quickly and cost-effectively.’
