Lisle, Ill.—Brad solutions, a line of automation products fromWoodhead Industries, a division ofMolex Inc., were among the highlights at the International Robots and Vision Show in Rosemont, Ill., June 12-14. The Brad line includes a range of industrial infrastructure products specifically designed to meet current robotic requirements, such as BradCommunications interface cards which provide the communications interface for a robot controller to communicate to a robot through an industrial network.

BradConnectivity cordsets connect devices found in sensor, actuator, and network applications and are designed for harsh-duty environments. Cordsets for point-to-point wiring applications are suited for end-of-arm applications where high-flex ratings are important. BradControl I/O modules for harsh-duty on-machine applications connect sensors located on the robotic arm to industrial networks.
The Woodhead booth showcased the BradPower quick-connect wiring system, a soft-wiring system designed to provide fast, modular connectivity for motor control and power distribution to synchronized system components. Also shown was the Ultra-Lock connection system, based on “push-to-lock” technology for secure, long-term mating without turning the coupler. The system supports rapid commissioning and long-term reliability of robotics implementations.
Woodhead’s goal is to deliver products and solutions that help manufacturers and system integrators improve the total cost of ownership of capital assets, reduce the cost of machine deployments, and improve production uptime, according to Mark Burns, the company’s global product manager.
