LCDs and monitors are in the HMI spotlight this month with the introduction of three new products. They are an LCD monitor fromStealth Computer Corp., flat-screen monitors fromAutomation Systems Interconnect Inc., and optically enhanced LCDs from AG Neovo . Details and links to Web sites with more information follow.
StealthVU SV-1700-HBhigh-brightness LCD monitor from Stealth Computer Corp. is designed to operate in extreme, ambient light conditions. The 17-in. diagonal unit has a brightness rating of 1300 nits, reportedly about five times brighter than a typical commercially available desktop monitor. The model meets NEMA 4/IP66 standards for indoor or outdoor use and resists corrosion, dust, rain, and splashing and hose-directed water. The stainless-steel enclosure withstands harsh environments. Plug-and-play capability requires no video drivers or special interface cards. Monitors offer optional touchscreens in a variety of technologies, including resistive, capacitive, and surface acoustic wave and are suitable for a variety of HMI, factory automation, and process control applications.

Flat-screen monitors from Automation Systems Interconnect Inc. are suited for robust in-plant or in-the-field applications.

Line of工业平板显示器from Automation Systems Interconnect Inc. comes in 15-, 17-, and 21-in. sizes, with or without touchscreens. With a NEMA 4 rating, units are suited for plant-floor or in-the-field robust applications, including process monitoring and control variable programming. Monitors use analog resistive-technology touchscreens and mount with an “easy-clip” system.

E-Series LCDs from AG Neovo have a hardened glass cover to enhance image quality and graceful, side- and back-curves and non-intrusive control buttons that blend into the overall design.

E-Series LCDsfrom AG Neovo feature a hardened glass cover to enhance image quality while protecting the panel from rugged environments. Flat panel monitors are available in 17- and 19-in. sizes and are desktop-, wall-, or arm-mountable on a folding base with tilt support. Units are said to be elegantly designed, featuring a black display, graceful side and back curves, and non-intrusive control buttons and built-in media speakers that blend into the overall design. Model E-17DA has a 12 ms response time, brightness of 260 nits, and a 450:1 contrast ratio; Model E-19A has a 12 ms response time, 250-nit brightness, and a 500:1 contrast ratio.
